CELEBRATE SONGKRAN

As April rolls in, Thailand comes alive with water fights, cultural rituals, and joyful celebrations, as Thai people mark Songkran, the Thai New Year!

Held annually from April 13th to 15th, Songkran marks a time of renewal, reflection, and family gatherings. Rooted in Buddhist traditions, it’s a chance to pay respect to elders, visit temples, and wash away bad luck with water, both symbolically and quite literally!

The most iconic part of Songkran? The water fights! Streets turn into playful battlegrounds with water guns, buckets, and endless laughter. It’s all in the spirit of fun and blessing — a refreshing way to welcome a new year under Thailand’s hot sun.

But beyond the water wars, Songkran is also a deeply spiritual time. Locals clean their homes, make merit at temples, and gently pour water over Buddha statues and the hands of elders to show respect and seek blessings.
